Join former Community Engagement Program Manager, Justin Ramos, as he shares the history of one of Los Angeles's most controversial murals América Tropical, painted by David Alfaro Siqueiros.

Justin Ramos (he/him) is a former Community Engagement Program Manager at NHMLAC. Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, Justin pursued a degree in history and art history at UCLA and earned a master’s degree in museum anthropology at Columbia University. Working as an educator at NHM allows him to share his passion for history and the study of material culture. When he is not researching Los Angeles history, Justin can be found in his small workshop, making things out of wood.
